SMILE PLUS is the main brand of Oceanwealth Horizon Sdn Bhd, committed to building the first dental clinic integration alliance in Southeast Asia. With over 21 years of experience in the dental industry, our founder - Mr. Ng Kheng Ann and co-founder - Ms. Tan Kelly understands that the dental market has a high potential for future development. As we are moving toward the sharing of economy model and resource integration, we strongly believe that Smile Plus can break the existing plan and push the entire dental industry to the next level and improve the level of medical care.

Founder, Mr. Ng Kheng Ann, Bachelor of Marketing, 21 years' experience in the dental consulting sector. 

Mr. Ng Kheng Ann started his career in the dental sector in 2000. In 2007, he and his wife Kelly Tan founded Oceanwealth Horizon, as a one-stop solutions provider for dental practitioners. Through hard work and dedication, he created a success story by finding a gap in the dental market. Oceanwealth Horizon is now an innovative leader in the dental industry, and it has also helped many dentists in their own entrepreneurial journeys. Today, the company's growth and business is steady, but Mr. Ng's pursuit of excellence has not stopped. With his years of experience, he decided to build Smile+, the first Southeast Asian dental alliance. It will connect patients, practitioners and suppliers via an online platform to better integrate the industry.

Co-founder, Ms. Tan Kelly, Bachelor of Business (International Business) & MBA (Marketing), A Lecturer of School of Dentistry, 21 years' experience in the dental sector.

With her rich sales and marketing experience, Ms. Kelly Tan has helped build strong teams in leading positions in the dental industry, carrying the founder, Mr. Ng Kheng Ann's business vision across Malaysia. As the face of the team, Ms. Tan is responsible for building relationships with thousands of dentists and managing relationships with stakeholders, including government, industry partners and oversight authorities. She is good at grasping market trends with keen market insights. As such, she is leading the dental practice into transformation via digital marketing, bringing revolutionary changes to the profession.

Smile+ was founded by Oceanwealth Horizon Sdn Bhd. Oceanwealth Horizon was formed in 2007, specialising in integrated solutions for the dental practice and helping them to grow. Every year, we will actively participate in the exhibition and introduce advanced medical equipment.

The Major Problem of the Dental Industry:

74% of the dental industry are solo dentists. They spend most of their time in clinical practice, ignoring the operations and marketing side of business. These clinics lack funds, technology and high-end medical equipment. Their business model still depends on walk-in customers, much like their predecessors. The problems are:  

• Lack of Clinic Management

Dentists tend to focus on the clinical practice aspect, neglecting the clinic's commercial management.

• Lack of Funding

Funding is hard to come by for dentists, and they cannot invest in cutting-edge treatments.

• Insufficient Transparent Dental Information

There is limited dental information and dentist profiles for customers to make decisions.

• Highly Competitive Market

There has been an increase of 1000 dentists every year since 2018, especially in first-tier cities. Existing practitioners can only gain an edge by innovating and improving their service.

• Incomplete Dental Equipment in Independent Dental Clinics

Some treatments need to be done at several clinics and patients do not have a one-stop centre for their ailments.

Smile+ aims to offer consolidated resources to achieve multi-practice growth of the dental industry in Malaysia. We will organise recognised dentists in Malaysia into a single alliance, while working towards expanding our mission into Southeast Asia and beyond!

Operating with light assets, Smile+ will integrate resources, technology and know-how across the dental supply chain.

Benchmark - TC Medical

Our ultimate goal is to become the Malaysian version of Topchoice Medical and build a complete ecosystem for dentists. We will become a listed company and achieve the same market cap of USD87 billion as Topchoice Medical.

Why Equity crowdfunding?

We chose the Equity crowdfunding route (instead of venture capital or private equity) in order to open the investment opportunity to a bigger audience. This way, more members of the public can invest in the fast-growing dental industry. Since we are based on the concept of sharing economy, we want to increase and share the value by enabling more people to participate. This can also allow advanced treatments to be democratized.

How will the money be used?

We are aiming to raise between RM2 million and RM10 million this round. The fund will be allocated as below:

40% of the funds will be used to establish our flagship experiential outlet, as well as our Smile+ Corporate and Smile+ Neighborhood teams.

30% of the funds will be used to build the customer portal and sales funnel.

20% of the funds will be used to create the Patient Data System.

10% will be used for training and development.

As we have been in this field for 21 years, we know the problems that both dentists and patients face. Uniquely, we also know the pain points of suppliers to the dental industry. We are in an exclusive position to not only solve these issues, but also bring them all together to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Through our model, the dental industry will be improved and enhanced. It is estimated that within 5 years, Smile+ investment return rate could be 5 times, so we would like to invite everyone to share a slice of this growing pie!
