Greetings, I am Samuel, hailing from Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.
I have spent over a decade in the employ of an international IT company, culminating in my appointment as Executive Director of the Indonesian subsidiary in 2016, where I assumed responsibility for market development in the Indonesian sector.
My professional background is steeped in extensive marketing experience, creative marketing concepts, and online marketing strategies. During my tenure, I even achieved the remarkable feat of a one-day sales record, generating a staggering RM 147,000 in revenue.
In the year 2021, I resolved to return to Malaysia, affording more time to be in the company of my elderly parents. My wealth of experience in online retail led me to recognize the untapped potential within both domestic and international home furnishings markets. This realization prompted my selection of the 'home furnishings' sector as the focus of my entrepreneurial endeavors.
Leveraging the resources accumulated over the years and a wealth of expertise, I founded Samspace, firmly establishing it in my hometown of Seremban, with the noble aim of making a substantial contribution to the local economy.

I have created my ideal living space on a limited budget!
With just RM100,000, I managed to bring my dream home to life!
In 2018, I acquired my first-ever home. At that time, I estimated that the renovation costs would be at least RM 200,000.
This amount exceeded my budget, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and do the interior design myself. Drawing upon my experience in online marketing, I excelled at sourcing materials and successfully reduced the renovation costs to less than RM 100,000. I crafted the ideal living space I had envisioned, and it garnered praise from both family and friends.
As a result, in 2021, following my resignation from a position in Indonesia and my return to my homeland, I made the decision to establish “Samspace”, My aspiration is to afford individuals the ability to replicate the realization of their dream abode, even within the confines of modest financial means.
In the early days of my entrepreneurial journey, I invested a great deal of effort in laying the groundwork. By importing rare and unique styles from overseas and employing bulk procurement to control costs, I managed to offer competitively priced products with excellent cost-performance ratios, providing customers with an outstanding shopping experience.
This strategy allowed Samspace to establish a firm foothold in the Malaysian market rapidly, achieving over RM 1 million in revenue within less than a year! Many of our customers were pleasantly surprised, as they hadn't expected to find such unique, exquisite, and high-quality furniture in Malaysia.
Initially, Samspace primarily focused on selling lighting fixtures, but as our business expanded, we gradually broadened our product range to include fans, sofas, tables, chairs, cabinets, and various other types of furniture.
By 2022, we had amassed 300 stock-keeping units (SKUs) and received approximately 16,417 orders, amassing a following of 17,000 to 20,000 visitors on social and e-commerce platforms.
In 2023, Samspace extended its reach to a multi-purpose offline sales showroom spanning 32,000 square feet. Apart from serving as a storage facility for inventory, it also functions as an office, display area, meeting space, and reception area, ensuring an enhanced customer experience.
Between 2023 and 2028, it is projected that Malaysia's furniture market will experience an annual growth rate of 7.89%. In 2023, the market size for living room furniture alone is estimated to be approximately $1.45 billion.
As per the data at hand, it is evident that offline marketing predominates within Malaysia's home furnishing sector. Consequently, Samspace has formulated plans for the establishment of four physical stores in the future, designed to enhance the customer experience through visual and tactile interaction.
While Samspace intends to broaden its offline retail footprint, it recognizes the importance of online shopping in the prevailing market trends. Hence, online sales channels remain one of our core strategies. Samspace aims to target international markets, including Jakarta with a population of over 10 million, affluent Singapore, and the rapidly growing economy of Vietnam.
Furthermore, Malaysia boasts a significant indigenous population ranging from 17.6 million to 18.6 million, constituting 67.4% of the total population. Hence, the Malay ethnic group is another key market segment for Samspace. The competitive pricing offered by Samspace serves as a vital factor in capturing the Malay market. Currently, Bumiputera customers make up nearly 70% of our current revenue.
We aspire to raise a maximum of RM 5 million in funding for the advancement of Samspace!
In this pursuit, Samspace has elected to engage the MyStartr equity crowdfunding platform, with the intention of raising a maximum of RM 5,000,000 and establishing a minimum crowdfunding target of RM 500,000 facilitating the continued expansion of Samspace.
Of the funds procured, 40% shall be designated for inventory, 25% for the expansion of physical outlets, 20% for operational needs, and 15% for market development.

我用100千,成功打造出自己梦想中的家园
2018年,我买下了人生中的第一套房子。当时我预计装修的费用至少需要RM 200千。
这个价格超出我的预算,后来我决定自己动手做家居设计,拥有网络营销经验的我善于寻找货源,最后成功将装修的费用降低到RM 100千以内,并创造出我理想的居家设计,家人朋友也纷纷给予好评。
因此,2021年我从印尼辞职回国后,决定创办“Samspace”,希望大家都能像我一样,在有限的预算下,也能打造出梦想的生活空间。
创业初期,我投入了大量精力进行前期准备工作。我们通过引进国外稀有和独特的款式,以及通过大宗采购来控制成本,成功提供了价格具有竞争力的高CP值(Cost–performance ratio)产品,为客户带来了极佳的购物体验。
这一战略使得Samspace能够在马来西亚市场快速站稳脚跟,不到一 年就创下超过100万令吉的业绩!许多Samspace的客户感到惊喜,因为他们没想到,在马来西亚能找到如此独特、精美且高质量的家具。
最初,Samspace主要销售灯具,但随着业务的扩张,我们逐步扩大了产品范围,包括风扇、沙发、桌椅、橱柜等各类家具。
2022年,我们累积了300个库存单位(SKU),接获约 16,417 订单,在社交、电商平台上拥有17,000至20,000的流量关注。
2023年,Samspace扩展至 32,000 平方英的线下多用途销售展示厅,除了用于存放库存,还用作办公室、展示厅、会议室和接待区域,为客户提供更好的体验。
预计在2023年至2028年之间,大马的家具市场每年将以 7.89%的增长率增长。2023年,单单是客厅家具市场的规模就高达约14.5亿美元。
根据资料,大马家居领域的线下的营销占了大部分的百分比。因此,未来Samspace也计划开拓4家实体店,以提供客户更好的视觉与触觉体验。
虽然Samspace计划开拓更多线下实体店,但也不会忽略网购的大趋势,因此线上的销售渠道也是我们的核心之一。Samspace目标进攻国际市场,其中包括超过一千万人口的雅加达、高消费的新加坡、以及经济发展迅速的越南。
此外,大马拥有17.6 mil至18.6 mil的土著人口,占据人口的67.4%,因此马来族群也会是Samspace抢占的市场。Samspace价格上的优势,是攻占马来族群市场的核心。 目前的的营业额当中,土著就占据了接近70%。
