Project Overview

At DIA, our mission has always been to cultivate empathy through transformative experiences, and we're thrilled to present an exciting new project. Founded in 2012 under the guiding vision of Stevens Chan, DIA is set to revitalise our flagship programs, Dialogue in the Dark and Dialogue Games, while venturing into new horizons with Dialogue in Silence and Dialogue with Time. With a target fund of RM4 million, we aim to establish the first full 4 Dialogue Experience Discovery Center in Southeast Asia.

This transformative journey goes beyond infrastructure enhancements; it's about empowering our team, integrating cutting-edge technology, and expanding our outreach. Our unique model, featuring experiences led by individuals with specific impairments, is not just about boosting corporate class sales – it's a commitment to shaping a more empathetic and inclusive society.

Why Should You Invest In DIA?

Social Inclusion Catalyst: DIA's commitment to promoting social inclusion aligns seamlessly with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. By investing in DIA, you are endorsing an initiative that actively addresses societal challenges. The unique Dialogue sessions, designed to foster awareness and empathy, contribute directly to the social fabric, making a positive impact on individuals and communities. This commitment to social inclusion not only aligns with ESG standards but also positions DIA as a socially responsible investment choice.

Optimising HRD Corp Levy: DIA strategically leverages the RM 827 million HRD Corp Levy, allocated in 2022, by offering socially driven corporate workshops eligible for HRD Claimable status. This approach taps into the addressable levy size, showcasing the potential for DIA's transformative experiential workshops, including Dialogue in the Dark and Dialogue Games, to access available resources and unlock additional avenues for revenue generation. Aligning your financial interests with DIA demonstrates a clear understanding of regulatory frameworks and innovative revenue streams related to the HRD Corp Levy.

Unique Business and Leisure Fusion: DIA's ambitious goal of becoming the world's third Dialogue in the Dark Discovery Center, and Malaysia's exclusive one, represents a distinctive fusion of business and leisure. This innovative approach strategically positions DIA as a pioneering destination that serves both tourists and corporate clients, capturing the lucrative intersection of tourism and corporate experiences. By investing in DIA, you are supporting a venture with the potential to capture diverse markets, offering investors a unique opportunity for returns in both the tourism and corporate engagement sectors.

The Story of DIA

DIA's journey began in 2005 when Stevens Chan, a luminary in banking and insurance, faced an unexpected twist in his life's narrative — the diagnosis of Glaucoma. By 2007, he confronted complete blindness, bringing his thriving career to an abrupt halt. Yet, within this realm of darkness, Stevens discovered a renewed purpose.

Supported by his unwavering faith in God and the love of his wife, Kaye Wong, Stevens transformed adversity into opportunity. In 2009, he founded the Malaysian Eye Patient Society and SOS Missions Berhad, aiming to prevent needless blindness and support those grappling with eye disorders.

The pivotal moment arrived in 2012 when Stevens founded Dialogue in the Dark Malaysia, a groundbreaking initiative where visitors, guided by blind hosts, navigate through absolute darkness. This marked the genesis of what would later become Dialogue Includes All (DIA). The mission was clear — to create public awareness, empathy, and empowerment for individuals with disabilities.

Under Stevens's visionary leadership, DIA evolved into a multifaceted entity. It became Dialogue Includes Academy, equipping disabled individuals with vital skills for communication and employment. Stevens's commitment to social change propelled the creation of partner programs, fostering entrepreneurship among the disabled.

DIA's impact surged with initiatives like the "Dog for Sight" movement, advocating for the accessibility and equal rights of the visually impaired. The organisation expanded further, creating partner programs under Dialogue Includes All to empower disabled individuals as entrepreneurs.

Today, DIA stands as a beacon of resilience and innovation, welcoming everyone to join its mission. With a social return on investment of 4.04:1 ¹ , DIA has become a transformative force, conducting over 181 team-building workshops, providing sponsored tuitions to over 100 individuals with disabilities, and selling over 33,900 paying visitor tickets.

Awards such as the DIGI Challenge For Change Winner, MAGIC Amplify Award, and SE.A + A Accreditation bear testament to DIA's success. The journey continues, with plans to rebuild and relaunch Dialogue in the Dark and Dialogue Games in 2024, acquire two new licences by 2025, and become the first full 4 Dialogue Experience Discovery Center in South East Asia by 2026.

In Stevens Chan's story, DIA has become not just a business but a transformative entity, a testament to the power of resilience, innovation, and the unwavering belief that even in the darkest moments, profound light can emerge.

5 Years Roadmap

2024 - Rebuilding Foundations and Relaunching Experiences

In 2024, our focus at DIA is set on rebuilding and relaunching our flagship experiences, Dialogue in the Dark and Dialogue Games. This strategic initiative aims to enhance and modernise our core offerings, ensuring they remain cutting-edge and impactful. This year will mark the revitalization of our foundational experiences, aligning them with evolving societal needs and expectations.

2025 - Acquisition of New Licences

Building on the success of our foundational year, we envision acquiring two new licences in 2025. This expansion plan underscores our commitment to broadening our impact by introducing fresh and diverse offerings. The acquisition of these licences is poised to bring innovative dimensions to the Dialogue Includes All experience, allowing for a more comprehensive and inclusive portfolio.

2026 - Southeast Asia's Premier 4 Dialogue Experience Discovery Center

In 2026, we aspire to reach a groundbreaking milestone by becoming Southeast Asia's first full 4 Dialogue Experience Discovery Center. This ambitious endeavour involves incorporating additional immersive experiences, such as Dialogue in Silence facilitated by the Deaf and Dialogue with Time facilitated by Senior Citizens. Our objective is to offer visitors a comprehensive journey through various perspectives, fostering a deeper understanding of diverse challenges faced by different communities.

2027 - Strengthening Connections and Expanding Reach

In 2027, our aim is to bolster our marketing efforts, targeting increased corporate engagements and collaborations with government institutions and schools. Our goal is to solidify DIA's position as a sought-after destination for team-building workshops, educational programs, and corporate events. Strengthening these connections is crucial for expanding our reach and influence in promoting empathy and inclusivity.

2028 - Catalysing Public Awareness and Empathy Integration in Education

The final leg of our roadmap, in 2028, centres around catalysing public awareness and integrating empathy into education. We envision contributing to the development of educational syllabi, embedding empathy as a cornerstone of character building. This forward-looking initiative aligns with our overarching mission to create a society where inclusivity and empathy are woven into the fabric of everyday life.

DIA’s Key Persons

DIA’s Founder - Stevens Chan

At the helm of DIA stands Stevens Chan, a remarkable individual whose journey is marked by resilience and purpose. In 2005, Stevens, previously thriving in the banking and insurance industry, faced an unexpected twist — a diagnosis of Glaucoma. By 2007, he experienced complete blindness, altering the course of his life. Despite this adversity, Stevens found strength in faith and the unwavering support of his wife, Kaye Wong.

Transforming despair into a sense of mission, Stevens founded the Malaysian Eye Patient Society and SOS Missions Berhad, aiming to prevent needless blindness and support individuals with eye disorders. In 2012, he established Dialogue in the Dark Malaysia, later evolving into Dialogue Includes All (DIA), with a mission to create awareness, empathy, and empowerment for individuals with disabilities.

Stevens became a social activist, pioneering the "Dog for Sight" movement and advocating for the accessibility and equal rights of the visually impaired. Under his leadership, DIA expanded its initiatives, creating partner programs to empower disabled individuals as entrepreneurs. Stevens is not just a founder; he is a beacon of positivity, resilience, and passion for creating an inclusive and empathetic society.

Co-Founder and Operations Director - Kaye Wong

Kaye Wong, Stevens' wife, is more than a co-founder; she is the pillar of strength supporting DIA's vision. With a background in beauty and sales, Kaye transitioned to full-time involvement in NGO, non-profit, and social entrepreneurship alongside her husband. Her expertise and experience have been invaluable in the formation and growth of DIA.

Beyond her role as co-founder, Kaye serves as the Operations Director of DIA Malaysia, contributing to the strategic development and seamless execution of initiatives. Her commitment to DIA's mission is evident in her multifaceted role, reflecting not only her professional acumen but also her dedication to fostering positive change in society.

Our Mentor - KC Lee

With over 25 years of extensive experience across the telecoms and IT industry, KC Lee is a cornerstone of DIA's leadership team. His progressive senior management roles with Sumitomo Electric and Fujikura Ltd. in various cross-cultural environments underline his wealth of experiences in strategic management, leadership, and problem-solving.

KC's engagement in coaching and facilitating workshops for senior leaders across the ASEAN region reflects his commitment to lifelong learning and human development. As an active Executive Coach, he brings a dynamic perspective to DIA, aligning technology, human development, and leadership to drive innovation and impact.

Fund Goals, Utilisation and Time Frame

Fund Utilisation

Embarking on a path of transformative growth, DIA charts a meticulous fund utilisation plan, strategically allocating resources to fuel sustainable expansion. With a resolute target amount of RM4 million, our financial strategy unfolds as follows.

A substantial 20% of the funds will be dedicated to licensing, ensuring a one-time investment essential for securing crucial permits and permissions.

Simultaneously, 30% of the funds will be strategically directed towards renovation and fittings, enhancing our physical space to align seamlessly with our mission and create an immersive experience for all participants.

In tandem, 20% of the funds will be channelled into HR and technology advancements, fortifying our organisational backbone. This allocation ensures the cultivation of a skilled workforce and empowers us with the technological prowess necessary for impactful operations.

The remaining 30%, a significant portion, will be devoted to business development initiatives. This strategic allocation is designed to amplify our reach, foster community connections, and establish partnerships, thus enhancing the overall impact of our programs.

DIA 于 2012 年在 Stevens Chan 的指导下成立,旨在重振我们的旗舰项目Dialogue in the Dark和Dialogue Games,同时通过Dialogue in Silence和Dialogue with Time开拓新视野。

DIGI Challenge For Change 获奖者、MAGIC Amplify 奖和 SE.A + A 认证等奖项证明了 DIA 的成功。

Dialogue in the Dark and Dialogue Games。

4 Dialogue Experience Discovery Center

Dialogue in the Dark Malaysia,后来发展为 Dialogue Includes All (DIA),其使命是提高残疾人士的意识、同理心和赋权。

Kaye Wong

KC Lee
