SK76 is a company that seeks to build itself into Malaysia’s leading halal certified distribution centre that is equipped with advanced technology for convenience stores and marts across the country. 

Additionally, SK76 aims to provide its customers with high quality, cost effective, and access to its halal products.

SK76’s vision is to establish and be recognised as the exclusive halal distribution centre both locally and internationally and provide stakeholders with mutual business investment opportunities.

As for its mission, SK76 looks to actively promote and make available local food to the entire community while providing quality products to all clients and consumers.

As for its goals, SK76 aims to carry out several initiatives, such as distribution network expansion, increase warehouse storage capacity and facilities, strengthen quality control processes, increase company branding, sales and marketing, as well as penertration of international products into Malaysia’s halal industry.

Entrepreneurship Story

Whenever one hears of the word ‘halal,’ it is immediately associated with the Muslim community as it is a huge part of their culture and way of life. However, SK76’s CEO of Eddie Lim wanted to change this oft-held stereotype and proceeded to establish the company as a distributor and wholesaler of halal food products. 

Following its establishment, SK76 has identified several pain points currently existing in the halal distribution industry such as supply chain disruptions, inefficient inventory management, soaring transportation costs, difficulties in adapting to the ever-changing demands of customers, as well as inadequate, outdated technology structure and system. 

Given these pain points, SK76 has developed the following competitive advantages to address these pain points:

Future Roadmap

In order to fulfil its vision to be Malaysia’s leading halal-certified distribution centre, SK76 has outlined its future roadmap throughout 2023 and 2024:

  • 2023 – SK 76 aims to move into a new warehouse in August as part of its business expansion plans and will further expand its team in September. By October, the company is looking to produce its very own halal products.
  • 2024 – In January 2024, SK 76 is looking to expand its cold truck fleet. In March, the company will look into IT advancement and application before moving on to distribution center expansion in May. As for June, SK76 will be looking into improving its quality control.

 

About the Key Person & Team

Eddie Lim is the founder and CEO of SK76, a highly skilled individual who has brought the company to greater heights thanks to his numerous years of experience dabbling in both the marketing and customer service industry.

Under his leadership, SK76 grew from a home-based office in the Kuchai Lama business district supplying local food to a fast-growing halal food supplier in the area following the establishment of its first Frozen Grocer that catered to the wholesale and distribution of halal food products.

Assisting Eddie in the managing of SK76 is a team of individuals, namely Kellie Chee (Head of Finance and HR Admin), Joerin Lum (Head of Operations and Logistics), and Kevin Lew (Head of Sales and Marketing). These people share Eddie’s passion in supplying halal food for the local community, have a deep commitment to providing after-sales service, and possess a strong sense of sincerity and honesty.

Over the years since its establishment, SK76 has won multiple awards such as the Consumers’ Recommended Award 2022, International Prestige Brand Award – Emerging Brand of the Year 2022, and the Leadership Excellence Award 2022. 

 

Fund Utilisation

For this round of crowdfunding exercise, SK 76 plans to raise a minimum of RM500,000 and a maximum of RM3 million. 30% of the funds will be used for marketing within a period of 24 months, 25% for working capital within a period of 12 months, 20% for operation costs within a period of 12 months, 20% for expansion with a period of 12 months, and the remaining 5% for human resources (HR) for a period of 12 months.
